Author, Chairman of Professional Writing Department, Taylor University
Doc Hensley holds four college degrees in communications, including a Ph.D. in English from Ball State University. He is chairman of the Department of Professional Writing at Taylor University, where he holds the rank of full professor. He is a columnist for Christian Communicator magazine and the author of more than 60 books. His ten novels include Pseudonym (Whitaker House, 2016), and his nine writing textbooks include How to Write What You Love and Make a Living at It (Random House), Teach Yourself Grammar and Style in 24 Hours (Macmillan) and Finding Success with Your Dream Writing Projects (Bold Vision Books, 2016). More than 3,500 of Dr. Hensley’s freelance articles have appeared in such periodicals as Writer’s Digest, The Writer, People, War Cry, Evangel, Reader’s Digest, Essence, People, and Vital Christianity, among many others. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army and was awarded six medals for service in Vietnam. Dr. and Mrs. Hensley have two grown married children, Nathan and Jeanette, and four grandkids.
Doc will be teaching a breakout session, and will be taking 15-minute one-to-one appointments.
