Get to know Julie
Julie is a founding partner of Blue Water Ink, a company that has been providing writing, editing, designing, typesetting, and consulting services for publishers and authors for more than 25 years. After earning a graduate degree in journalism from Michigan State, Julie started her editorial career at Zondervan. As an editor, Julie helps authors develop ideas and communicate them with clarity and creativity.
Although she has edited fiction, her expertise is nonfiction. In addition to editing, Julie has skill in graphic design and typesetting. She can take a book from the manuscript stage all the way to printer-ready files.
In 2000, Julie began writing for the popular devotional Our Daily Bread, and in 2008 she published her first full-length book, Above All, Love: Reflections on the Greatest Commandment.
Julie has taught college writing, presented workshops at writer’s conferences, led writer’s groups, edited newsletters, and coached writers. She enjoys helping writers see their manuscripts objectively, encouraging them to continue what they do well and abandon what isn’t working.
She will be available for private conferences to help writers focus their ideas, to provide input on proposals, and to offer general publishing advice.
