Janyre Tromp

Get to Know Janyre:

Janyre Tromp has worked in the CBA industry for more than 20 years, spending time in both marketing and editorial. Currently she is a developmental and acquisitions editor for Kregel Publications by day and a writer at night. And that all happens from her kitchen table when she’s not hanging out with her husband, two kids, and slightly eccentric Shetland Sheepdog.

In case you’re wondering, you pronounce that first name Jan-air…kind of like the stove, but not like the book. She’s a graduate of Taylor University and lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Janyre will be co-teaching a breakout session, and taking 15-minute appointments

Turning Your Speaking Ministry into Your First Book Deal

With Janyre Tromp & Joel Armstrong

A book that synthesizes the central message and story of your speaking ministry is a wonderful tool to have on hand when you’re at events and to expand your reach online. But speaking is one thing, and writing a book is another. In this session, book editors Janyre Tromp and Joel Armstrong guide you through the process of distilling the core message of your ministry, creating an effective narrative and chapter structure for your book, and lacing your writing with illustrations, applications, and thoughtful questions from your speaking engagements.

Acquisitions Editor - Kregel Publications

Kregel Publications acquires broadly in nonfiction and fiction. We’re especially interested in nonfiction titles that tackle contemporary issues using a single biblical story or book. We’re also looking for manuscripts that deal with issues surrounding mental health, adults with special needs, social justice, as well as new takes on perennial topics like women’s issues, marriage, and parenting. Kregel is always looking for excellent historical romance, contemporary suspense, historical fiction, and women’s fiction with biblical grounding. Please no poetry or scripts. One sheets, proposals, and synopses are helpful but not necessary. First-time authors welcome.
